He will Raise You Up to Inherit the Land.

Seeking the Eternal Water of Life 002

With so much pernicious evil present throughout our lives, many people somehow are under the impression that “the things that we do that are evil are right, and the one time things we all agreed on that are right, now are wrong.” The looming question as far as I am concern is what is the outcome from turning from evil?

Ancient history’s greatest kings provide us in our current culture, the answer to this inquiry. King David writes centuries ago:

If you turn from evil and do good, you will live safely forever. For our Lord God loves justice and will not abandon his faithful; they are preserved forever. But the descendants of the wicked will be cut off. [Psalms 37:27-28]

The favor of the Lord our God is granted to those who are freeing themselves from the power and consequences of evil. When the generation of the descendants of the wicked are cut off, what will become of the righteous ones of God?

The righteous will inherit the land and live in it forever. The mouth of the righteous articulates wisdom, their tongue speaks justice. The spiritual instructions of their God is in their heart; his footsteps do not falter.  [Psalms 37:29-31]

In reality, there is this ongoing war between two kingdoms, the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan, as both are in competition of the heart and soul of each human that has existed. As millions are attempting to break free from the slavery of evil within and without the existence, what is it that God has promised for the righteous in this on-going struggle?

The wicked keeps his eye on the righteous, seeking a chance to kill them. But our Lord God will not leave them in his power or let him condemned when judged. Put your hope in our Lord God, keep to His way, and He will raise you up to inherit the land. [Psalms 37:32-34]

What then is the future outcome of those who are Wicked?

When the wicked are cut off, you will see it. I have seen a wicked man wielding great power, flourishing like a shade tree in its native soil. But I passed by again, and he was no longer there; I looked for him, but he could not be found. [Psalms 37:35-36]

What then is the future outcome of those who are the Righteous?

Observe the pure person, consider the upright; for the peaceful person will have posterity. But transgressors will all be destroyed; the posterity of the wicked will be cut off.

The Lord our God is the one who saves the righteous; He is their stronghold in time of trouble. Our Lord our God,  help them and rescues them, rescues them from the wicked and saves them; because they take refuge in him.  [Psalms 37: 37-40]
