I am reminded of a passage of Scripture which depicts the severity of my heart condition, as throughout my lifetime, it disclosed to me the dire need for Spiritual renovation of my heart! The Gospel of Mark, chapter 7:20-23 states, “And He was saying, ‘It is that which proceeds out of the heart of the soul that defiles this person. For from within, out of the heart of each soul, proceed the evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, and adulteries, deeds of coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness. All these evil things proceed from within and defile the soul of the individual.
The above list clearly defines who I was and can be without the Love of God applied to my life. I am on record as guilty of every charge that the author Mark list, including murder, in the sense that any evil language that is directed to another soul with ill intent is defined as murder to the soul. While I was writing my book, “Suffering With Dignity” I do attempt to communicate to the reader, the reality of sin and its ever pressing role in our current existence. Just because sin is not discussed or somehow has become regulated as “unpopular in general conversation by the masses, does not dismiss the truth that sin remains our shared universal experience as humans.
The Anatomy of the Deceitful Heart
Please be on the look out for my new teaching series entitled, The Anatomy of the Deceitful Heart. This series will examine the elements that defines a deceitful heart as recorded in Jeremiah 17:9:
“The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give to each soul according to their ways, according to the results of their deeds.”
Then I will prescribe in this teaching series, sound Biblical and practical solutions to what anyone can begin to do toward restoring a heart that is sick, wounded and broken. Stay tuned In!
