This week’s blog will feature Key Bredder [a friend and faithful follower of Christ] as she shares about her personal encounters with our Creator answering her prayers on behalf of her family and her own spiritual growth during her life. She recalls while communicating with fellow believers at a Bible study, how good God has been and still is!
Psalm 139:16  All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.  NIV
My daughter was 2 years old (45 years ago) and I was driving on an unfamiliar road.  I drove up a hill and right across the two lane crossroad into an empty lot. I was quite surprised to see where we were.  Within seconds a big 12 wheeler came barreling down the road.  We would have both been killed.  There were no seat belts in those days but I doubt they would have helped.  God protected.
We lived in the country on three acres and I was mowing the grass with a large tractor and a six foot mower blade underneath.  One of my three children was riding on my lap.  It was a quiet, sunny day, no breeze.  We made a couple of passes along the tree line.  On the third pass I heard a loud “boom”.  A tall tree had fallen down right behind the tractor. A minute sooner and the tree would have fallen right on us.  God protected.
Twenty years ago I was visiting my brother in Phoenix.  I was driving his car on a four lane highway when a tire blew out.  Fortunately I was in the “slow” lane and able to pull on the side of the road.  A tow truck came to tow me to a nearby garage.  There was something about this man that made me uneasy.  I silently prayed.  When we arrived at the garage I gave him a check for the tow.  He looked surprised.  I think it was because I had scripture on my check.  My brother thought it was because I was from out of town.  It is up for debate but I believe he meant to do me harm but was prevented.  God protected.
Three years ago my oldest grandchild was celebrating his 16th birthday.  My son-in-law took him, three friends and my eight year old grandson water skiing.  I was concerned for the safety of the eight year old and was home praying on and off for him.  As soon as they arrived home from the lake, the eight year old came running in saying he almost drowned.  He was riding on a board on his belly behind the boat.  The teenagers were supposed to be watching him but were involved with their own fun.  As my son-in-law went around a curve, he fell off the board and his feet got tangled in some straps.  Even though he was wearing a life jacket, the straps were holding him under water.  My son-in-law looked back and didn’t see him.  He was ready to jump in when his head popped up.  My grandson said he knows God loosened the straps and saved him.  I heard him telling his friend about it. There was no room for doubt.  He knew that he knew it was God. God protected.
God is so good, trustworthy and full of love, mercy and compassion.  Worthy of our Praise!
Listen, my friend! Your helplessness is your best prayer. It calls from your heart to the heart of God with greater effect than all your uttered pleas. He hears it from the very moment that you are seized with helplessness, and He becomes actively engaged at once in hearing and answering the prayer of your helplessness. ” -O. Hallesby-
