“For the one who believes and for the one who loves, there is no other truth, and there is no other love.”
The above quote is out of the book, the mystery of marriage: the meditation on the miracle, by Mike Mason. In the chapter on love, the author raises the question of whether couples fall in love as a matter of “fate” or coincidence? Mason answered the question by saying: “The door of coincidence turns upon the hinges of fate.” What I thought was one of the most profound responses to this question in this very good book, prompted me to think about the love [agape] of God toward me and of all sinful humanity!
Encountering agape, [hesed, kindness, mercy of God toward humanity] is to encounter a faithful God seeking after this own helpless created beings. While Mason was clearly communicating about the love between man and woman, for me, my soul was reflective on just how I have come to know the truth of God and His life-giving love. Truly, it was the fate of God’s love for me that provided me as is the case for billions of other souls, the ability to be free in the midst of a sinful and evil generation.
The real love in which we all were designed to respond to, to recognize, and to thrive upon was fated before the creation of this world as we know it! For this writer, authentic love and truth are one of the same and the most wonderful, quintessential perfect expression of this reality is The Anointed One from above, Emmanuel.
As fate would have it, The Messiah from above is the essence of love, truth, and eternal life. The very purpose and promise of these virtues are only found within Him as the Living God, who desires to bestow these gifts and promises onto all those whom the Father has given Him.
For the prophets recorded that His ministry on the earth as the expression of the Incarnation of the Word will emancipate instead of enslaving the souls of God’s people. His person and His office was recorded by those who were eyewitnesses of His life, reported that He was truly human, made of a woman, conceived under the law, prophetically He is the only mediator between the Creator and sinful humanity. His multiple offices include prophet, priest, and King, as well as the alone Savior and Redeemer in God plan of salvation.
The Messiah’s public proclamation and demonstration of the Gospel granted the union of all humanity to become in fellowship with the Father, via the Son, and the powerful regeneration inner-workings of the Holy Spirit. No longer enemies of God, we now are adopted sons and daughters in the family of God and His Kingdom. Such transformation grants benefits such as unspeakable joy and freedom from the darkness and the fear of the wages of sin.
The Master is Light, in Him alone, there is no darkness, for He is the very reflection of the invisible God upon the visible and physical earth that we know and enhabit. Messiah as The Light of this world is opposed to all darkness of sin.
For He alone is pure and Holy in His nature and works in that His eyes are not to behold any form of iniquity, so much so that the angels cover their eyes before Him.
Any followers who have been in His presence, those who have communion with Him, enjoying The light of His revealing countenance and life-giving love, yet continue to walk in the darkness of sin, ignorance, unbelief, immaturity, blindness, and pride, are deceived and are only lying to themselves and the love of God and His truth is not within them!
We who walk in The Messiah’s light are expected to grow by increasing in our own spiritual light and knowledge by a life-long pursuit in abiding in The Master’s love, which is truth. We do so, faithfully as the continuous unfolding of the Gospel and the Kingdom of God manifests within our lives on earth.
This love of God grants us with the present as well as many eternal benefits as we abide in The Light of Messiah. We are partakers among ourselves in God our Father. For we all jointly and mutually appear to take on His likeness in our calling and commissioning as His ambassadors in the earth. The righteousness of The Messiah is imparted into us, thus giving us a deeper communion with Him by the cleansing miracle of His blood throughout our earthly covenant relationship on earth.
For all sinful humanity, God’s greatest act of love on behalf of our helplessness is the mystery of the application of the Spirit of God upon the shed blood of Christ on our behalf. This truth is absolute in that the shed blood of Christ is the only solution to our proclivity to walking in the darkness of sin.
Messiah as a prophet greater than Moses [giver of the law which condemns], was born under the same law yet He taught and demonstrated the [life-giving spiritual meaning of the law.] He provided the only means of freedom from the legalities of the impossibility of us in keeping the laws. Now within the New Covenant, the law is written upon the regenerated hearts of the follower. No greater scripture reference for believers today than Hebrew 9:22, “and with blood, almost all things are purified according to the law, and apart from blood-shedding forgiveness doth not come.” [Young’s Literal Translation]
The Messiah as the Lamb of God, shedding His innocent blood on the cross, does much, yet the primary focus of this article is that it fulfills all of the divine requirements of God in reference toward sin in the life of those whom God has given as disciples of Christ. In God’s eyes, the Messiah’s blood, removes sin out of their sight, while they/we, continue to work out our soul-salvation daily.
For me, there is no greater love story than this! Walking in the Love of God. Equally, there is no greater absolute truth than the Gospel of The Kingdom of God. The love of God in my life is not by coincidence but by fate! For it is by His love for me that I am truly free. True freedom cannot become a living reality by the human efforts of one’s will, for this only Love must be bestowed as a gift from above.
Grace and Peace
