Today’s Daily Spiritual Manna is motivated and directed to those faithful servants of the Master, who have or are currently, experiencing much needed renewed spiritual strength and overall restoration, while they are enduring through some challenging times, namely, aiding and or by serving the needs of others.
As is the case with me at the time of this writing and others throughout our faithful servanthood to the Father, we are at times, called to “bear one another burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the Law of Christ.” Gal. 6:2
While this is a very noble and high calling, it can at times, create some negative consequences in one’s overall soul stability and status, even while ministering effectively, love, compassion to others in their season of weakness and infirmities. What is our response when burdens become oppressive or unhealthy to our souls?
I pray that you will find comfort, hope, and encouragement in the various chosen passage of Scriptures, my interpretation of these inspirational verses, as well as the Prayerful manner in which I communicated them for your consideration. Grace and Peace
Clarifying the term, “burden.”
While there are other supportive Scripture references of the term “burden” [see at the end of this blog post], our primary focus is on the two different meanings of the word in Galatians 6:2-5.
Galatians 6:2-5
Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ. If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves.
Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone without comparing themselves to someone else, for each one should carry their own load.
The term burden in Galatians 6:2 is taken from the term, [“Baros”] which implies, Weight, an experience of something that is particularly “oppressive.“
In Galatians 6:5, the term burden is taken from the word, [“fortion”], which constitutes a load for transport, or that which is carried and constitutes a burden.
This matter of carrying other burdens are not commands of legalism, nevertheless, Children of the Kingdom of God are encouraged to give to the poor, we are to work to take care of our families and ourselves. As is the case of helping others who are genuinely in need.
The faithful follower of the Master is expected to take their personal responsibilities seriously [bearing his/her own], and at the same time, for those other individuals, whose burdens of life are more than they can carry, the Believer is to be spiritually motivated to tend to those in need, providing various kinds of physical, emotional, financial, and spiritual needs to others from one’s supply.
When our random acts of kindness become burdens that are “oppressive” the reminder of this blog deals with what is our response toward restoration.
My Prayer in the Time of Need
Heavenly Father
You are my Lord, my judge, my advocate, and my peace. You are my safe harbor in this ever-present life-threatening challenge that is before me. I humbly plead my case before You in my weakened condition.
Is it not these very times that You have willed and have drawn me to Your Face, that You now offer me a much-needed hideaway and spiritual love and support?
My Lord, Your power and presence is the very thing that I delight in while only You can tend to my inner afflictions, distress, and adversity that is related to my service toward others in Thy Name. Psalms 46:1-3
My Lord, Savior, and Redeemer, Your Holy Name is my strong tower where You have instructed me to run to it in order to find safety. Oh, how I find so much delight in how You have revealed to me that You are merciful, gracious, long-suffering, abundant in the administration of Your goodness and absolute truth throughout my life of service in Your Name.
You are not blinded by the multiplicity of internal and external trials, tribulations and testings that are my lot, for this is my motivation for seeking refuge in Your presence, while hoping and expecting that You will lift me above all of these inherited troubles! Proverbs 18:10
Thank you, my Lord, as I am basking in Your presence, You have instructed me not to lament during these times of distress. You will grant me the victory of overcoming with the ringing cry which comes from Your joy which is my foundation of replenishing power, safety, and protection.
Such is this renewed blessed assurance that Your joy has granted me during my trials, tribulations, and testings. It’s Your joy that truly disarms, disables and removes all dread, anxiety, apprehension, doubt, terror, and panic disposition, for You have promised to be with me, and all that are faithful to Your will.
How great is Your lovingkindness which is extended to all those who are called by Your Name? Your very presence in our lives empowers us to not be dismayed, for it is because of You as our God, who strengthens us while assisting us in our service to Your will, for You my God has promised to uphold each of us with Your Mighty and Righteous hand. Nehemiah 8:10
Father, Your people who possess a firm and resolute mind, You promised to keep us in safety while granting us with happy well-being because it is You who have equipped those whom You have called and commissioned.
It is You who have placed confidence in us. Our eternal safety is within You forever, for God is an ever-present refuge. Isaiah 26:3-4
Blessed is You my Lord for You are my covering, my secrecy as You keep me while guarding me against misfortune, adversity, and calamity. You encompass and besiege me with Your songs of emancipation and redemption.
Because of Your love toward me, You promised that You will empower me to be watchful and discreet, ever-so-cautious and prudent in my coming and going.
Such wisdom and knowledge enable me to flow as water upon the road, my chosen course of life, and the very model of actions that You have pre-ordained for thy servant.
I will never have to be in doubt for You promised that You will be the One who will give me spiritual advice and instructions in all matters pertaining to my calling and commission as one of Your own.
Thank You, my Lord, for keeping attentive over my welfare with vested interest over my complete soul-care. Amen.
Closing sentiments
As we “bear one another burdens”, there are times when carrying “oppressively” the weight of another, while having your own, will drain us even while we are effective, ministering love, compassion to others in their season of weakness and infirmities.
It is all so important for each of us to use applied wisdom to our situations when we are serving our own needs as well as the needs of others.
The greatest takeaway that this blog post offered in answering the question of finding strength during trials, testings and tribulations are for those of us who are tired of laboring, to take these soul positions: retirement, withdrawal, and disengagement of all things, and seek the Face of God!
Seeking the Face of God entails positioning one’s soul in a downward inclination before our Holy God for it is the spirit of humility that replenishes our freedom and safety.
In the presence of God in quietness, we will not be disturbed while God grants increase confidence as our renewed state of being, vigor and courage to continue on doing His bidding as Children of Light amiss the Darkness of our journey.
