Education
“That which leads you always to hate what you ought to hate, and to love what you ought to love from the beginning of like to the end.” -Plato-
America is currently experiencing extraordinary disclosed education that makes it appear that the world is in fact, coming to an end. Yet I contend that God is not finished with the heart and spirit of this nation.
God’s love, grace, and mercy are uncomprehending to our minds, yet I am praying that we as a nation will continue to heed His divine warnings while receiving from His eternal throne, His favor during these perilous times.
Such divine warnings consist of:
For the day of the Lord draws near on all the Nations. As you have done, it will be done for you. Your dealings will return on your head. Obadiah 15.
Multitudes, multitudes in the Valley of Decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the Valley of Decision. The Lord roars from Zion and utters His voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth tremble. But the Lord is a refuge for His people And a stronghold to sons/daughters of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God. Joel 3:14-17
“Yet even now,” declares the Lord, “Return to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, weeping, and mourning; And rend your heart and not your garments.” Now return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in loving-kindness, and relenting of evil.
Where do we all go from here?
The heart of America and its collective people who survive the plagues, pestilence, racial unrest, economic inequities, and other injustices that have come about from our own doing, must not return to what is “normal!”
What was and what is “normal” in the foundation of this Republic is the evil of practice of Indifference!
Abraham J. Heschel stated that there is an evil which most of us condone and are even guilty of: indifference to evil. We remain neutral, impartial, and not easily move by the wrongs done unto other people.
Indifference to evil is more insidious than evil itself; it is more universal, more contagious, more dangerous. A silent justification, it makes possible an evil erupting as an exception becoming the rule and being in turn accepted.
Worldwide, not like ever before in my lifetime, have I witnessed the collective solidarity of all humanity, demonstrate Peacefully and non- violent, “righteous indignation” protest against the evil of indifference in America’s past.
In a quote by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., he warned America that “It may well be that we will have to repent in this generation. Not merely for the vitriolic words and the violent actions of the bad people, but for the appalling silence and indifference of the good people…, https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/53360.A_Testament_of_Hope
Perhaps a greater if not more frightening divine warning to America comes from John the apostle in his vision of events that he witnessed in the Spirit in Revelation 9:20-21.
“The rest of mankind, those who were not killed by these plagues, even then did not turn from what they had made with their hands-they did not stop worshipping demons and idols mand of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk. Nor did they turn from their murdering, their involvement with the occult and with drugs, their sexual immorality or their stealing.”
The apostle John, just like preachers, ministers, pastors, clergy in our day, despite the preaching of the Word of God and its warnings of punishing discipline of His people who should know better, America will, after all, is said and done, return to its evil ways of the love of mammon, instead of the love of God and His Kingdom.
Both saints and sinners will desire to work for meat which perishes and serve the Mammon of the rusting wealth of this world which cannot see, hear, speak, or walk.
In the spirit of Indifference, they will change the game rules and call “good,” “evil,” and “evil,” “good.”
Woe to those who call evil good
and good evil,
who put darkness for light
and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet
and sweet for bitter.
Isaiah 5:20
If ever there is any needed spiritual discernment, warning, and rebuke by God toward any people at present, it is His judgment upon the household of God for her silence and indifference throughout this age!
For the church in America, “come out of the evil political, economical systems, and the cultural immorality” to be what God has called for you to be in our world.
I have written previously that there is somewhat a consensus among Bible scholars that the ancient church of Laodicea best describes the Western Christian institutionalized church in America. This is so because of the power and affluence that capitalism has played in shaping and defining our way of life, and our Christian beliefs.
Michael J. Gorman in his book, Reading Revelation Responsibly states that the problem with the Laodicean church is that it is neither hot nor cold but lukewarm. Lukewarmness is an ancient metaphor that does not imply indifference, but “lukewarm” means so prosperous and supposedly self-sufficient as to be completely out of spiritual fellowship with Christ.
Due to its wealth and prosperity, the modern church in America is the most accommodating due to her faithful participation with the status quo when needed as its means of survival, while fully embracing the lifestyle and values of the elite and most powerful. [Gorman, chapter 5, Seven Pastoral-Prophetic Messages from the Risen Lord Revelation 1-3, page 96.]
For the time has come for the judgment to begin. It begins with the household of God; and if it starts with believers, what will the outcome be for those who are disobeying/rejecting or have not been spiritually enlightened by God or the Good News? 1 Peter 4:17
In conclusion
Is there anyone in heaven or on the earth who is willing to be a mediator, an intercessor to stand between the Congregations of God?
The Anointed One upon High, Christ is our High Priest forever is the only one faithful enough to deliver those who approach God through Him, since He is alive forever and thus forever able to intercede on repentant followers and believers behalf.
In the meantime, let the priests, the Lord’s ministers, Weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, “Spare Thy people, O Lord, and do not make Thine inheritance a reproach, a byword among the Nations. Why should they among the peoples say, “Where is their God?” Joel 2:12-17
