This week’s blog post is a spiritual essay on the subject of space and time after my reading, studying and interpretation of Genesis 2:3 and Matthew 12:1-14.
The brief analysis of space, time, and our roles as human-beings living upon the earth, will read as a love letter to my Creator out of my ultimate reverence and devotion to His will and His plan of redemption in our lives and creation. I pray that you will be blessed and encouraged!
Much Grace and Peace
The Veneration of “Time!”
Lord God, You are unmatched in all of Your creations, of the heavens, and the Earth, and those whom Thou has made just lower than Your angels. It is only You, my Lord, who has complete sovereignty of Space and Time!
How vain and potentially naïve it is for human beings to think that we are the very highlight of Your conclusion of Creation. Behold my Lord, how only You have crafted us from the clay while infusing Your breath of life into our nostrils thus making us living souls and citizens of the earth and heaven!
You “hallowed” and made Holy the Shabbat day from initiation of “Time” You placed Your seal upon time and all created matter. Your consecration of this “Seventh-day” throughout all of eternity is our very continual reminder that “all the earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof, and that all of heaven is Your abode while the Earth is Your footstool.
Lord God, I am made aware and forever thankful that because of Your infinite wisdom and knowledge, the institution of Shabbat assists Your servants with the awareness that in the world, there is a rhythm of work and leisure. There are annual seasons and divine order that is set in motion by Your command and not our wills nor our institutions.
Such wisdom from You aids my understanding of why Thou created all other living beings before humanity. With Your love and mercy directed toward us, the Shabbat was made for us as Your children, serving us as our tutor in knowing how to order time, how to impose our will and purpose on time, to choose to set aside time for special purposes.
Innately, You have created humanity as Your image-bearers on the Earth and endowed within human-beings the ability to worship and praise You throughout our limited journey on Earth.
Blessed are You, my Lord, for only You have sanctified the Shabbat day as a life-changing spiritual gift from above, just for Your people. This blessing forever offers us a means of partaking through Your Spirit, and Word, the avenue of increased higher spiritual discipline and knowledge, as we travel the pathway of righteousness upon the Earth.
How mightily You have fashioned this world in a manner reflective of Your most sacred and holy Name, “YHVH”, which represents throughout the earth, Your compassion that is bestowed on our behalf.
What is Time?
The shadow on the dial,
the striking of the clock, the running of the sand,
day and night, summer and winter, months, years, centuries-
these are but arbitrary and outward signs,
the measure of time, not time itself.
Time is the life of the Soul.
-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow-
The Holy Scriptures also identify that You as Elohim as You have fashioned this world to represent Your on-going principle of moral and righteous justice on those whom You called Your own!
The Son of Man is by far, Your greatest recreative disclosure to this world. Is He not the very visible image of Your invisible nature throughout all of the time? For the Scriptures agree that He is also the Lord of the Shabbat of Your Kingdom.
What newly found liberty and freedom from all forms of slavery Christ Jesus now grants those who are spiritually illuminated by the Living Word of God. The record reflects that Christ is one the very one who instituted the Shabbat thus is it’s rightly Lord and ruler.
Due to Lord Christ each day, month, year, the generations now is under His authority and thus each day is the Shabbat. It would behoove each living soul upon this earth to willfully, submit, and remain committed to His Lordship.
Hebrew 4:9-11 says, ”So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.
Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience.” How do we enter into that rest, especially as faithful followers of Christ?
The answer is, through faith in Christ Jesus and what He has already done for us!
How wonderful that since the beginning of time, You have been so faithful in slowly revealing Your divine plan of restoration of all things and nations. Your revealed universal domination and power as our Creator is far beyond my understanding and comprehension.
Your creativity, light, and darkness are manifested in many ways. At the beginning of time, darkness makes up the original state of the world, only to be transformed by the reality of light on the first day of Creation.
Blessed are You my God that light marks difference, clarity, and divine order. However, after the “Fall” these very images take on other realities. For darkness express the realities of being in exile are both the oppression of slavery, only to be transformed by Your mighty hands of divine liberation.
This very exodus experience from darkness to light communicates how You also removed all of my inner void of despair, loneliness, fear while making alive my spirit by Your promise of renewal.
Thank you, my Heavenly Father, for now, Christ is the Light of the World, boldly proclaiming that whoever follows after Him will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life eternal. John 8:12
Finally, You have now liberated me from a slave of sin to that of a bondservant to Christ who in turn blessed me as a child of the light of the world.
Now and throughout the entirety of my life, I can now let my light shine before others, that they may see my good deeds and glorify my Father in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16 Amen.
Children of Light
…Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, redeeming the time because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is… Ephesians 5:16
