His Resting Place
Heart
God our Creator is the only one that uniquely exists and has divine powers to fashion the Heavens and the earth. As the earth that we know of and live in this age is perishing such as an old badly worn-out garment, He who is eternal is unchanging. His years will never come to an end. Psalm 102:25-27
Who is it among us mortals and everyday people, in this generation, that possesses the power to universally effectively revolutionize history or creation but God? The many pages of the Ancient Hebrew text, reveal that His divine will and progressive restoration design come into reality through His delegation to the Son of Man, Christ Jesus. Daniel 7:13-14
Has not the LORD said, “Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool? Where, then, is a house that you could build for Me? And where will My resting place be? Isaiah 66:1
Beloved God, please create within me a clean heart and an obedient will. You no longer delight in burnt offerings as was the pattern of old. Please delight in my presentation of a broken spirit and contrite heart. Psalm 51:17
It is this condition of the heart where I will reside until the end of this age. I will put My teaching within them and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be My People. Jeremiah 31:33
Living Tabernacle
Body
Lord God, please make me your living tabernacle and a faithful testimony of grace in this age. Shape and mold me in a manner that I am Your very living epistle that Your Holy Spirit has written upon my heart. That I may be read by all living souls, let my prophetic witness be as an epistle of the Messiah, ministered within the deepest innermost being of my soul by Your Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:2-3
Just as the heavens and the earth shall become restored into God’s original intention, each faithful follower in Christ shall reclaim a renewed identity and spiritual calling now and forever. As heirs to every aspect of God’s Kingdom, we are elevated into a Royal Priesthood of Christ.
As a holy nation, we are a people for God’s very own possession, a renewed Exodus community of saints who will proclaim the Heavenly Father’s due praise among all nations. This devotion is made manifest by the Spirit of agape and liberty that is visualized by mutual submission while honoring others as neighbors. Philippians 4:18; Matthew 22:36-40
The Living God has said, let the light shine out of darkness, thus making His eternal light shine in our hearts in this very dark generation. Now we who are God’s renewed living tabernacles, possess within our vessels of clay, God’s divine treasure which shows this surpassingly great power is only from God.
Darkness will not be darkness with You my Lord, but the night shineth as the day: darkness and the light are both alike to Thee. This same reality holds concerning life and death. Psalm 139:12
Bringing spiritual life
Soul
When death entered our world, it did so not just in a bodily form but also spiritually and eternally. We yearn for life and see death as the intruder, enemy, and life’s common denominator. The prophet Isaiah could therefore look forward to a day when God would defeat death.
‘On this mountain, he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations; he will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; He will remove His people’s disgrace from all the earth. The Lord has spoken.’ (Isaiah 25:7-8)
This hope finds fulfillment in Messiah: ‘Very truly I tell you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. (John 5:24)
Behold, I will tell you a mystery; we shall not sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 1 Corinthians 15:51-52
Prayer
“Bless our God, O peoples; let the sound of His praise be heard, who has kept our soul among the living and has not let our feet slip.” Psalms 66:8-9
Blessed are You O Lord, for it is only You who sustains the living with lovingkindness, revives those who are asleep with great mercy, supports the falling, heals the sick, frees the bound, and keeps Your faith to them that are asleep in the dust.
Who is like You, my Lord God, of all the mighty acts, and who resembles You, O King, who orders death and restores life, and causes salvation to spring forth in Messiah now and forevermore. Isaiah 61:1; 2 Benediction of The Amidah
Amen.
Grace and Peace
