Wisdom, the pathway toward God
Light is the great liberator that bestows power because it transfers the initiative to man, whose gaze extends into the far distance, which is no longer protected from the power of man by its length. Man is a being who prefers light over darkness!
Light is not only an external illumination that surrounds man at certain times. About the rest of creation, to inanimate matter and the animal kingdom, man is an illuminated being, for intelligence is illumination itself.
Man’s meeting with God is in the realm of light. The divine has always been located in the heights, in the upper regions from which the lights that illuminate the earth shine.
The association of God with illumination is ancient and phrases such as the “divine light” and the “inner light” remind us that in speaking about God we speak from the vantage point of those who dwell on earth and who use its images- such as light and dark- to speak about the sacred. Selected Portion of Scripture
Proverbs 2:6-8
The Present and Eternal value of Wisdom
The Lord gives divine attributes and energy, and from His commandments comes the knowledge that God teaches to humanity supplying us with the faculty of skillful discernment. But there is a spirit in each of us, and the breath of the Almighty which gives understanding.
Heavenly Father hides while reserving blessings for His sons and daughters. He is the essence of resourcefulness in our trek in space and time, all driven by His provisions for His uprightness. He is a safeguard for those who live with principle, so that He may construct and guard the paths of justice and protect the way of His loyal followers. Proverbs 2:6-8; Job 32:8
All human wisdom and skills are innately from God.
God’s wisdom enables humanity to be:
- Discreet
- Wise
- Inspired
- While we may possess a great level of wisdom, it can be annulled by those who are wise.
- Those who disregard the divine source of wisdom, have become conceited and sinful.
- Wisdom is acquired by the observation of nature, history, and the mentorship, study, and association with those who are wise.
- Those who are elders, sages, and wise are sought out for their counsel.
- Wisdom is practical intelligence that is intuitive and creative for skillfully performing tasks.
- Wisdom is human and divine property.

God’s wisdom enables humanity to become rescued, redeemed, and regenerated.
The essence of God’s wisdom is in Christ as depicted in the following passage of the Apostolic Writings of the apostle Paul:
but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
1 Corinthians 1:24
Christ has torn down the middle wall of partition of assessability to God and between Israel and Gentiles, thus creating a “New Man” Jews and Gentiles, one in Messiah. In the context of this verse, God’s renewed divine design, there is no difference [spiritually] between those who are called into Christ. (Romans 9:24). Christ glorified is the power of God and the wisdom of God.
These words are a summary of the gospel of Paul. He also speaks elsewhere of “the exceeding greatness of God’s power to toward us who believe which he wrought in Christ” (Ephesians17-20), and of “all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” as being “hid in Christ” (Colossians 2:3). And the world, once so scornful, has learned that Christ is indeed the Power of God.
Some Closing Observations
Godly spiritual wisdom differs from the systems and kingdoms of this age. The striking difference is noted in the primary characteristics of its motive and intent. The apostle James writes that Godly wisdom is pure, peaceful, considerate, submissive, merciful, produces good fruit, shows no partiality, and is sincere. James 3:19
Godly wisdom is spiritual manna from heaven by which regenerated living souls encounter, learn of, nourished, and are protected while co-laboring with the Creator in advancing His progressive plan of redemption before the final consummation of all things.
The uniqueness of humans as living beings is and never will be measured by what we are able to accomplish with the wisdom that we possess. As created beings by God, our worth in the world is our ability to locate God when there is no light during our journey or when we endure life’s very worst.
It is only when we experience life’s darkest moments, those moments when God appears to be hiding and we experience lostness and ultimate surrender that we come to know while experiencing God’s supreme essence, His Love, and devotion toward those who are His very own possession.
The writer in Psalm asks the question, where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? Even if the darkness shall fall on me, even the night shall be light about me; indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, but the night shines as the day; for the darkness and the light are both alike to You.
