I am very happy to say that we have kicked off the Walking in The Messiah Discipleship Group this week. While I was looking for the initial session to consist as a small group, I was blessed to launch this noble labor of love by ministering on a one on one basis with interested followers of The Messiah.
Thank you, my Lord! I humbly ask for your continued prayer that each life that the Lord has moved to be part of this spiritual maturity effort, will grow and become all that The Master intends for those who commit to following Him for the duration of their lives.
I will continue to offer this learning opportunity with the group setting in mind, for I believe this is the most effective teaching model due to the diversity and life experiences of the group.
The most important aspects of this learning experience whether on an individual basis or in a small group setting is as follows:
- This study is a 16-week educational teaching series entitled, Walking in The Messiah Discipleship Group. This year’s initial class starts Aug. 4, 2018, until Nov. 17, 2018. The gathering time each Saturday is 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. We will be enjoying both spiritual food and physical food. The group size will be no greater than 15. Our location is to be determined later.
- The sole purpose and goal of this group are to assist believer(s) in how to become a disciple by learning to build the character and disciplines required in order to effectively walk in one’s faith in a godless culture. There are eight sessions which require two weeks per session where we will study: What is a Disciple? Are You a Disciple? Are You Making Disciples? Sanctification, Integrity, Perseverance, Living By the Word and Walking In the Spirit.
- The course textbook is The Messianic Life: Discipleship Series by Kevin Geoffrey, ISBN-13 9780978550462 [2009 edition], or ISBN 0-9785504-2-0 [2007 edition]. These two books include all the required workbook and learning elements for each student. Discounted copies are available through, alibris.com; amazon.com, or www.Perfect Word Ministries.com.
- Cost for this course is your commitment to start and complete the entire course with your fellow life-long learner. You will be responsible to purchase your study text book. After each weekly session, an opportunity to make a financial donation will be provided if you are motivated, along with prayer request.
